CPL were commissioned to provide internal fitout services to the new build Curzon building next to the original Millenium Point and Parkside campus of Birmingham City University. The new building was called Curzon Building and was started in 2014 and then later included a phase 2 which was a substantial extension to the Curzon building also carried out by Willmott Dixon in 2016 of which CPL also carried out.

CPL’s work included partitioning, drylining, ceilings, plastering and also SFS metsec walls. Working closely with Willmott Dixon the program was tight due to having to achieve a building opening date in line with the academic year but the build was completed on time and on budget.

The project design was complex due to the nature of big atriums, acoustic lecture theatres and the size of the campus. But CPL we’re able to deliver the finished product and also value engineer solutions as the project progressed to give savings and solutions to the client and contractor. The end result was a fantastic looking building, with many feature walls and ceilings giving a great impression as you go round the building.
